  • -The elements that enable a shaft to rotate by sliding on its surface are called sliding bearings. The primary purpose of the plain bearing is to prevent the metal-to-metal contact by forming a thick oil film between the shaft and the bearing, thus reducing the friction and eliminating the wear. In cases where this is partially or not possible, the plain bearing is desired to serve for a long time with little friction and low wear.

  • -Slide bearings are preferred for their simple and cheap structure, less space in radial direction, they can be made in two parts, and they can withstand impacts and vibrations. They have a very high performance when they work in an environment where there is enough oil.
