  • -The transfer of electrical energy from the generation to the transmission system (interconnected system) and the transformer centers (also known as switchyards) located at the connection point from the transmission system to the distribution network are very important in terms of “electrical energy supply security”.

  • -In order to reduce the losses in the “travel” of the electricity from the production point to the consumption point, the voltage from the two main parameters of the electricity is first increased in Step-Up Transformer Centers and then lowered in Step-Down Transformer Centers (ITM). When the voltage levels at the production point are 0.4kV, 3.1kV, 6.3kV and 10.5kV levels, 154kV and 380kV energy transmission lines (ETL) are transported to remote points and the distribution network starts at 36kV level by being transmitted to regional electricity distribution companies (EDAŞ) by TEİAŞ. These facilities, which are established and switched (on-off) at these points where production, transmission, transmission and distribution system are switched, are called “Transformer Center”.
